Alberta Ferretti, philosophy and My Little Black Dress

Alberta Ferretti is an Italian designer born in Cattolica in 1950.  Albertta Ferretti takes us into a romantic, delicate world filled with tenderness. For My Little Black Dress, her laces and transparent fabrics evoke a lightness of being.

Biography: Alberta Ferretti

Alberta Ferretti’s destiny looked all set out for her, as her mother was a dressmaker.

Alberta Ferritti opened her 1st boutique at the age of 18. In 1974, she launched into the creation of her own label.

1980: She creates AEFFE with her brother Massimo

1981:  1st show room in Milan

1983:  1st fashion show in Milan

1984:  Launch of the ready to wear « Philosophy » line for younger customers

It’s during the 1980s that Alberta really made her mark in the fashion world, particularly with her famous muslin dresses made of embroidered silks.

1994: AEFFE is set up in Montegridolfo and produces Jean Paul Gauthier and Narciso Rodriguez. Acquisition of Pollini – launch of Alberta Ferretti accessories

2003: Opening of boutiques in Moscow – Paris – Milan – Rome – Capri – Tokyo – New York – London – Taïpei

2006: Boutiques open in Kaliningrad in Russia – Jeddad in Saudi Arabia

2007: Alberta Ferretti arrives in New York – Launch of the Alberta Ferretti collection for girls aged 5-12 and a line of sportswear.

2008: Deal signed with the Elite spa group – launch of Alberta Ferretti glasses – Elisabeth ARDEN licence – Alberta Ferretti perfume

2008: Inauguration of Flagship – Alberta Ferretti opens a boutique in Los Angeles, 826 Melrose Avenue

Time seems to stop with Alberta Ferreti’s black dresses. This designer seems to be telling us to take the time to enjoy our lives. The woman who wears Alberta Ferratti dresses is never in a rush and has something about her that makes us want to get to know her!
