Some XXL dresses for extra FX
Yohji Yamamoto‘s signature style is charaterised by his tendency to over-dimension his designs that always appear, let’s admit it, rather unfinished. Don’t be fooled by this apparent demonstration of carelessness, for this Japanese stylist’s reputation is on the contrary founded on his reputation for rigour. Initially a student in law, he then attended the prestigious Bunka Fashion Academy of Tokyo. This intentional omission of finishings, extra-large dimensions while simultaneously playing with asymmetry… as many items of a winning combination, or so it appears, for Yohji’s success was almost immediate after his awe-inspiring first fashion show in Paris in 1981, ten years after he launched his brand in the 80s.
Yohji Yamamoto At Work is the opportunity to discover the man’s inspirations and designing process, illustrated by numerous works.
