Kate Middleton has become many little (OK, and of not so little) girls’ lifetime dream … and Mattel now gives them the opportunity to recreate the future princess’s tale back at home, with the latest addition of the beautiful Kate !
A Barbie in her honour
The piece itself is actually the perfect replica of England’s soon-to-be princess. The most awaited wedding of the year will take place in five days, and some smart creative brains (and marketing geniuses we’ll grant you that!) came up with this great idea in order to calm our pimpatience a little longer with this umptieth derived good that will no doubt enchant more than one little girl (at least far more than a mug, the fridge magnet or even mum’s adored new silver and plates embossed with the royal couple, let’s face it!)
Dress and beauty wise, no doubt about it, the doll is a mini Kate, exactly like the day the engagement was officially announced . A little midnight blue dress and some black flats, and a wonderful and kind smile. The Barbie can be bought on the Franklin Mint website for, oh, a mere 195$ (so mum might just decide to keep Kate in the showcase so as to avoid all dramatic haircut on behalf of talented hairdresser-to-be daughter or any other “accident”). And what is more, only 5000 copies will be made worldwide, so we’re talking about a very rare specimen.. That being said, a princess life comes at a price does it not?
Franklin Mint’s marketing director tells us about this Barbie collection:
“Our Princess Diana is no doubt our greatest success to his day. Collectors have taken an interest for Kate with as much enthusiasm as they did for Diana before.”
A second Kate Barbie will be made post wedding wearing her yet-to-be revealed bride’s gown.
