Cannes 2011 : black dresses of the week

This year, the Cannes Festival has a beautiful selection of black dresses for us…little summary of these past few days hosted by Mélanie Laurent who, dressed in her beautiful black ball gown signed Dior Couture in black silk organza on skin colour organza, represented with perfection what the black dress inspires us…. elegance, feminity, and a hint of mystery..

11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of May, in 100% black

So, who was the best dressed in your opinion? Inès de la Fressange defended a very laid back chic style, in a long gown and wearing flat shoes.. glam or not? At any rate, we love her Roger Vivier accessories, a Pilgrim Clutch in black straw and leather, Chips sandals in black patent leather and some Vivier Belle sunglasses in black. Melanie Griffith, spouse of Antonio Banderas (who was there on the 11th for the animated film Chris Miller‘s animation), arrived at the arms of her hubby for the showing of Midnight in Paris, the latest Woody Allen. Was also present actress Élodie Bouchez, whose dress, not entirely black, was nevertheless a must see and we had to include it here. Very original! Vahina Giocante was very glam and sexy indeed in her black ball gown, and Gong Li, one of the L’Oréal Paris embassadors for this 64th edition, in a Roberto Cavalli sheath dress arrived like a mermaid on the red carpet. Top model Karolina Kurkova came for the showing of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 with a Charleston inspired little black feather dress, signed Chanel, so twenties! Underlining a stylish pair of Jimmy Choo kitten heels. French actress Alexandra Lamy remained discreet at the arms of Jean Dujardin. And your favourite? And finally, we have very VERY divided opinions with regards to Jane Campion and her daughter Alice…
