Cannes Festival President

The Cannes Festival will once again delight our eyes with gorgeous little black dresses. This year it’s Robert De Niro‘s turn to preside.

De Niro, actor, director and producer (yeah, just that!) is famous for his impressive filmography,which includes films  The Deer Hunter by Michael Cimino (1978), Heat by  Michael Mann (1995), and Meet the Parents (2000). He has been directed by Martin Scorsese in 8 films and in 1993 makes his first full length film A Bronx Tale.

Robert De Niro has received many awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Meet the Parents), an Academy Award for Best Actor and Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama (Raging Bull) among countless others.

After the events of 7/11, he co-founds in 2002 the Tribeca Film Festival in the aim of promoting the seventh art, music and culture while at the same time breathe new life into southern Manhattan. In 2009, Robert de Niro receives the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor as well as The British Academy of Film and Television Arts’ (BAFTA) Stanley Kubrick Prize. In 2011, the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) grants him the Cecil B. DeMille Prize for the whole of his cinematographic career. In June, he will be starring in Limitless by Neil Burger.

So you won’t be surprised to see this talented man among all the pretty girls in black dresses during the Festival! This said, by looking at the pictures of Bellucci an himself below we can understand why he has reason to appreciate the LBD !
