Cannes : Lady GaGa

Invited to the Grand Journal by the french TV channel Canal + for the first day of the Cannes Festival 2011 was Lady Gaga, ready to do a live performance of her latest single Judas, already a hit worldwide.

The world superstar is clearly not going to miss out on any given occasion to steal the limelight, one would have to be stranded on an island somewhere lost in the Indian ocean to elude her ubiquitous success. This said, she does do well in entertain us, as much by her music, her extraordinary outfits always more surprising than the previous, or her videos. She was in Paris last Monday… and by GaGa standards, she was relatively inconspicuously dressed. The singer is a fan of Christian Lacroix, often wearing pieces from his collectuins, and she shows her adoration for the amazing designer yet again in her video for Judas. She bears a satin duchesse vintage wedding dress as well as an embroidered black jacket from the Haute Couture Winter 2008 Collection. These pieces were chosen within the Christian Lacroix House Archives by Sacha Walckhoff, recently named the House’s Artistic Director. But the superstar who has a soft spot for designer pieces is generally spotted wearing either bright clothes that could give even a blind man a heart attack, or, obviously, black, which to be honest, just reflects her morbid slightly borderline insane personnality (but hell, we like it).  We impatiently wait for her new album Born This Way which will be released this month on the 23rd.
