Mummy Style Steal : Carla Bruni-Sarkozy

This week our french first lady was proudly showingoff her lovely little belly in white and black dresses, and gave us a perfect lesson in style. Carla Bruni-Sarkozy showed us indeed how it is possible to ally chic fashion taste, wife of head of state status, international event hostess and the joy of motherhood in a single outfit. Which? Well, a little black dress of course. 

A little black dress for a mum-to-be

The previous the french first lady worea pretty little white dress, the LBD antidote of sorts, revealing a nice round tum until now quite kept secret. Well, hard to keep it discreet for such an event and in particular now that baby is so nicely on its way. With this short white dress in long black buttoned blaze, Carla remained her usual chich self often glacing at her belly, an obvious tell tell sign. Our little black dress arrives the following day, adapting the dress to her new silhouette as she makes a perfect fashion-politico stance in Deauville. A chic little piece, no pretentions, short enough to be sexy but not too much… The neck is revealed thanks to a wide round neck, fastened by a mother of pearl button, and underlined moreover by a neat little bun. We’l skip the heels for once, this short trapeze line 3/4 sleeve model is as perfect a day dress as for a the evening cocktail… Indeed the first lady seems almost ready to set off on a cruise boat (who can blame her with such beautiful sunny weather), bare legs and rhinestone sandals.

For the G8 meeting, showing a magnificent and welcoming smile, Carla gretted the heads of government, perfectly playing the part of delicate and bubbly hostess, contrasting with the austere environment usually expected at such an important event (and we appreciate it!)
