Right so, Roland Garros is finally over, Rafael Nadal has once again beaten Roger Federer, and now features on ever sports and people magazine front page… yes but not only him! The world’s second best tenniswoman Venus Williams knew well how to get herself noticed, but not for her tennis skills ! During her match against spanish
tenniswoman Arantxa Parra Santonja the press had more to say about the fashionista of the courts’ dress than about her game. Indeed she did not disappoint the public on wednesday 26th of May, dressed in a particularly audacious black dress, of black lace bined with red...
Black lace dress that turned more than one head
This black dress was actually one the tennis player designed herself for her clothing brand Eleven. She says that these lace outfits are indeed not very common on the courts, and she has been thinking about making them for quite a while. She defends that they are comfortable to wear and she appreciates designing clothes that appear to appeal to an audience. We’re thinking, “erm.. the male audience perhaps?”. The reactions heard around the Porte d’Auteuil are callous: “a sportsdress, that? A nighty rather!” . Despite that her tutu dress brough about a fresh look on the courts, there is no doubt that this was a massive fashion faux-pas. A little black dress can hardl go wrong, but this little item was simply not cut out for the french tennis courts (if anything I think she should have sold her designs to the Moulin Rouge)… absolutely nothing classy in a dress that lets our boobs pop out ! Her very very VER short black and red dress flew straight up with every lunge and smash and run at the net, revealing … her bottom ! Oh alright, not really, but from where the crow sat the illusion was quite effective. Venus actually commented on her skin coloured boxer shorts, saying that the illusion of seeing bare skin was purposely her intention, and why the dress was so short in the first place! She stated that she finds simple revealing natural skin very pretty and pleasant… Erm, yes, well, the courts are maybe not the best of places to expose that belief Venus, but at least you had a few following your progress waiting for the next match…
