And we continue to follow the story leading up to the wedding of the decade in Royal British History, that of Kate and William, and can assure you it will be one never to forget!
The day the entire Kingdom if waiting for…
The carriage
Miss Middleton made a slightly less traditional choice, asking for a car rather than a horse-drawn carriage to take her to Westminster Abbey. Well, it’s not just any car, a Rolls Royce to be fair and national, and in her defence, it was all because she fears carriage sicknes which some say is rather similar to sea sickness.. now we wouldn’t want that before the vows would we? And she has obliged to return to Buckingham by carriage, the same as used by Charles and Diana, provided the weather be clement. The cakes
Yes because there will indeed be two cakes for the royal wedding. William has asked for his favourite chocolate cake, one that includes Rich Tea biscuits and dark chocolate and is set in the freezer rather than baked in an oven. Buckingham Palace has sent the recipe to chefs at McVitie’s, who will make an outsized version including 1,700 biscuits and nearly 40lb of chocolate. His sweet Kate fancied a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake, with pale colours and a floral theme representing the ¬symbols of the four nations: an English rose, a ¬Scottish thistle, a Welsh daffodil and an Irish ¬shamrock. Our royal couple could not have been any more British had they tried.
Kate’s outfit
Many rumours have been going around and about the papers and web concerning the matter. The artistic director of Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, is thought to be the dress designer. However the latter firmly refuses to divuge anything with regards to the subject. Secrets are well kept when it comes to the princess-to-be’s wedding dress.
As for the shoes, we know that designers Giuseppe Zanotti, Manolo Blahnik, René Caovilla, Cesare Casadei et Georgina Goodman have all been solicited for designing what will adorn Kate’s feet on the big day. But nothing has been revealed.
See the wedding live!
The royal wedding’s entire ceremony will be transmitted live on TV channels worldwide. I will most definitely be waiting to see Kate.. and, I admit, the cakes !
