Well it was the last round of the Evian Masters Cup today ! Ryu Ritsuko and Hye-Youn Kim kicked off the day this morning at 7.40 a.m. under a brilliant sun. We expected a tight win between Ai Miyazato (-13), compatriot Miki Saiki, americans Stacy Lewis and Angela Stanford and corean Hong Han, all at -11. Finally, Ai Miyazato won her second title (already won in 2009) with a total of -15, in front of Stacy Lewis (-13) who was after her on the leaderboard all day. What about the dresses ?
The white dress in hiding
Not as popular to be wearing white as one does when playing tennis, we admit, but this time not a single white dress was to be seen. Maybe the rather soggy weather in France these days kept them in hiding. Indeed, a lot of colour was walking around the greens today. Well, during practice I did find one white kit – day 1 – practice round with Beatriz Recari (Esp). So for a change, let’s have a series of bright outfits, with a preference for pink, to illustrate. If you’re thinking about trying your hand at golf yourself, and fancy a crisp white number, we recommend you check out Stella McCartney’s range of sports clothes for Adidas.
Also, it’s important to note that the tournament gave the japanese delegtion a cheque of 22 800 euros for Makeruna Nippon-Never Give Up Japan and Kokoro wo Hitotsumi (JLPGA), two associations that are helping with the reconstruction of cities after the terrible earthquake and tsunami of March 11th last. The money collected came from the sales of t-shirts and bags of the “Evian Masters Loves Japan” Collection and Sponsors Club, who largely supported this operation.
