This summer I want sandals, sandals and mooooooore sandals ! Something to keep my toes happy and fresh, not suffocating away in the heat (however, I’ll grant you that we’ve seen more of what appears to be a month of Autumn). Nevermind, if the sun won’t come to me, I can be sure that my sandals will make me feel summery and bubbly until I finally fly off to the Caribbean for my fair share of sea, sun and se…. erm, seasonal entertainment. For the second time round, the Galeries Lafayette, (and Glamour, Franck Provost, StudioMake-up, aufeminin.com and Galeries Lafayette Voyages), organise the world’s biggest ever catwalk ! It will be held in Paris on Thursday 15th of September and throughout France on the Saturday September 17th 2011. Who will Glamour magazine spot and select as part of the 15 best “glamour looks” ? What little black dress would complete your look?

The sunshine is out, beautiful days ahead of us, and Hollywood stars (and more) are pregnant up to their noses. Indeed, it’s quite a baby boom Spring we’re witnessing among the celeb circle… but also a black boom! The mums-to-be have all found a favourite LBD, understanding perfectly well that, when nothing in the closet can work for your changing body, the little black dress is a timeless flawless option. Flat tum or big bump, we all love our black dress. 

The MMV (Marché de la Mode Vintage), held every year in Lyon, celebrated last weekend its 10 years of existence and remains the event that federates the largest number of visitors and exhibitors within the different events pertaining to vintage fashion in France. Each year the selection of exhibitors gains in quality and in number, and over 25 000 visitors, with a particular accent made on professionnals come from abroad, especially those from European cities where vintage is strongly present such as Edinburgh, London, Brussels and Vienna. And so I set out myself, in search of a few LBDs… vintage of course.  

The royal couple Charlène Wittstock and Prince Albert II of Monaco we’ve been hearing so much about (now that Catherine and William have done their bit) will be exchanging vows in less than a month (curious peeps can check out the details on the official website >>>here<<<). We have done a little black dress analysis of the the princess-to-be of course..

As the final day of the Cannes Festival 2011 draws nearer, the little black dresses hastily gather on the red carpet.  We have literally witnesse a wave of LBDs climbing the stairs these past few days… To discover here.
