If you’re in Paris at the moment, be quick, it’s your last chance this weekend to see the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition by the Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent . We owe much to the man Yves Saint Laurent, among many things the first smoking for women, black and equally masculine and feminine, and just as classy as Chanel‘s little black dress.

Last weekend, Ferrari and my-little-black-dress.com won the french grand-prix at Magny-Cours with Fabien Barthez and Gilles Duqueine, a MLBD shareholder. The black dress wins on every front !

Following up on the DSK story, Christine Lagarde has been the centre of attention. This gave me the idea of starting a series on the world’s most powerful women… in little black dresses of course.

So, this seventh step in the Tour de France brings me to say a word about the little black dress. Yes, the inevitable dress is once again demonstrating how it really is perfect for all occasions.

Since yesterday (July 4th), Paris is living at the pace of its Autumn-Winter 2011-2012 shows, following Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani Privé, Givenchy, Chanel, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier down the catwalks… and I’ve picked out a few little black dresses.

What a waste ! Creator of genius, Galliano John Galliano, known for his ability to create phenomenons and be a sensation, appeared before the court yesterday, Wednesday 22nd of June 2011 at the Tribunal de grande instance of Paris… I wish to come back on some of the most beautiful black dresses to have seen the Fashion Week shows, in the hope that the fashion scene will never again bare witness to a story that brought shame upon the entire industry.

The sunshine is out, beautiful days ahead of us, and Hollywood stars (and more) are pregnant up to their noses. Indeed, it’s quite a baby boom Spring we’re witnessing among the celeb circle… but also a black boom! The mums-to-be have all found a favourite LBD, understanding perfectly well that, when nothing in the closet can work for your changing body, the little black dress is a timeless flawless option. Flat tum or big bump, we all love our black dress. 

The MMV (Marché de la Mode Vintage), held every year in Lyon, celebrated last weekend its 10 years of existence and remains the event that federates the largest number of visitors and exhibitors within the different events pertaining to vintage fashion in France. Each year the selection of exhibitors gains in quality and in number, and over 25 000 visitors, with a particular accent made on professionnals come from abroad, especially those from European cities where vintage is strongly present such as Edinburgh, London, Brussels and Vienna. And so I set out myself, in search of a few LBDs… vintage of course.  

Right so, Roland Garros is finally over, Rafael Nadal has once again beaten Roger Federer, and now features on ever sports and people magazine front page… yes but not only him!
