Three beautiful cities, and some amazing bars for you, your LBD and your taste palate to discover (or go back to). These bars are part of the World’s Best Bars‘ selection, a website I can only recommend with a complete over view of any bar worth knowing and even those you might prefer to avoid, with extensive reviews by customers from all over the world. You won’t have to worry about anything other than what little black dress would suit the place best !

A city, a vibe, a dress : London

For an unbeatable view of the city, spent an evening at Vertigo 42, on the 42nd level of Tower 42 (the former Nat West Tower) on Old Broad Street. Of course not the best of ideas if you don’t take to heights very well, but you’ll regret on having missed on on this amazing view of the London skyline that draws all those up there, although one could debate that the chic decor and ultra stylish ambiance might also have something to do with its success. Not that it really matters, and the Drinks menu is as extensive as you could hope for. The only downside in my opinion is that you get the view from where you are seated, and that’s the whole thing, as wandering around to se the others isn’t allowed. (Vertigo 42, Level 42, Tower 42 25 Old Broad St, London, EC2N 1HQ. Tel: 020 7877 7842 )

For something a little less adventurous, and if you really aren’t bothered about being checked by security and over scrutinized when all you want is a very good drink, indulge in Soho hypeness, and check out Mark’s Bar at Hix. Some of London’s toughest critics and the blogging crowd (negotiably even harder to satisfy) have sealed their approval (I think that says it all ) for the downstairs bar at Mark Hix’s venture, already becoming a capital hot-spot. Damien Hirst fish dangles from above your head, and neons override the bar from where you smoothly make your way, delectable drinks in hand, to butter-smooth sofas of mahogany-coloured leather. A clubby bar you cannot miss out on if you’re willing to forget about how much your spending (worth it).( Mark’s Bar at Hix, 66-70 Brewer Street, Soho, London. Tel: +44 0207 292 3518 ).
